ActionDignity’s GrOW Platform Seed Grant for Anti-Racism Community Action Plans is Open to Apply now!

ActionDignity through its funders and partner-organizations advances the GrOW-Platform (Grassroots Organizational Empowerment) strategy among its member/partner organizations. The GrOW Platform is a network of ethnocultural community and equity-seeking organizations that share common goals towards equity and systems change. In this partnership, ActionDignity and its member organizations envisaged the growth in connection, collaboration, and empowerment of ethnocultural communities. They also address equity issues among ethnocultural communities in the areas of Gender Equity, Mental Health, Public Safety, Social &Economic Inclusion and Workers’ Rights.

ActionDignity is pleased to announce its offering of a seed grant for anti-racism work to support member/partner organizations to plan and organize community-led Action Plans to broaden and strengthen their awareness regarding anti-racism work.

This initiative aims to create impactful projects that bring attention to the challenges posed by racism, promoting understanding and empathy within our communities.

Awareness of racism entails recognizing and understanding the existence of discriminatory attitudes and behaviours based on race.  Effective Anti-racism work involves dealing with racism on all levels including lateral, internalized and systemic/Institutionalized racism. Advocating for anti-racism involves not just acknowledging these issues but actively working to dismantle them. It’s a call to action, encouraging people to educate themselves, engage in difficult conversations, and challenge the status quo. It’s like planting seeds of empathy and understanding, hoping they will grow into a garden of unity and equality.

The primary goal of this project is to develop and implement awareness campaigns as well as identify tangible actions or initiatives that highlight the various facets of racism, its impact on individuals and society, and ways to dismantle systemic prejudices.
