Youth Knowledge Mobilization Event Celebrates BIPOC Youth Leadership and Mental Health Advocacy
On May 22, over 100 youth, community partners, and advocates gathered to celebrate the voices and leadership of BIPOC youth at our Youth Knowledge Mobilization event. The evening served as a powerful testament to the resilience, creativity, and dedication of young people who are shaping the future of mental health advocacy.
The event highlighted the journey and findings of two transformative initiatives—Youth WEAVE and TD BLACK—which focus on building a culturally responsive, racial trauma-informed mental health system. Through these projects, youth co-led the work of reimagining support systems that affirm identity and center lived experience.
We were also honored to welcome Rochelle Deloria, youth leader and mental health advocate, as our keynote speaker. Her courageous storytelling and wisdom inspired everyone in the room, sparking important conversations on youth wellness, racial equity, and collective care.
We are deeply grateful to our youth team and community collaborators who have walked alongside us in this journey. Your commitment and partnership made this moment possible.
One of the evening’s most exciting highlights was the emergence of new youth artists whose work powerfully conveyed themes of healing, identity, and justice. Their art reminded us that creativity is not only a form of expression—but a vital tool for advocacy.
