GrOW Platform Engagement: A Night of Connection and Empowerment

On October 18, 2024, the ActionDignity office was buzzing with excitement as over 50 grassroots leaders from 25 member organizations gathered for our third quarter GrOW Platform Engagement Session. The evening was full of energy, marked by shared stories, new connections, and a collective commitment to building stronger communities.

Our Strategy Lead Paban Adhikary gave a compelling presentation on GrOW Platform and all ActionDignity’s program outcomes leading toward systems change work. Through the presentation, the audience got a clearer picture of how they could be part of this initiative for system change.

Two incredible leaders from our member organizations took the floor to share their success stories. Natacha Pierre Pierre from the Haiti Alberta Sports and Cultural Club spoke about how the Seed Grant from ActionDignity allowed her team to grow programs that directly impact their community. She shared a heartfelt story about one initiative that’s creating real, lasting change. Khor Top of KomKan Africana told a story about how the Charitable Partnership with ActionDignity has empowered his organization to implement projects that are shifting the narrative in their community.

Another highlight of the event is the sharing from our partner The Immigrant Education Society (TIES). They shared a key lesson from working with ethno-cultural organizations. Her reflection on the power of collaboration reminded us all of the importance of partnership and community engagement in achieving our shared goals.

Attendees walked away with new contacts and potential partners, setting the stage for stronger collaboration across grassroots organizations. The presentations and reflections gave everyone a better understanding of how ActionDignity’s system change work is creating real, tangible impact—and how they can contribute. Armed with new resources and ideas, participants felt more prepared to bring meaningful change to their communities.
