Announcement: Community Action Plans were selected by ActionDignity GrOW Platform’s first batch Seed Grant
ActionDignity’s CAP (Community Action Plan) is a key component of our work to build the capacity of organizations/leaders and members to scope community issues that matter to them, prioritize the most prominent issue, and develop a community-led action plan. Within ActionDignity’s programming, we resource the CAP with a seed grant to implement the plan to address issues around Social Inclusion, Public Safety, Workers’ Rights, Gender Equity and Mental health to influence the system. Underlying these issues is a strong commitment to anti-racism and discrimination, which is a strong predictor of uneven outcomes that ethnocultural communities are facing.
ActionDignity’s GrOW (Grassroots Organizational Empowerment) Platform Seed Grant (1st batch) for Community Action Plans (CAP) was open for application in early July and we have received much interest from equity-seeking groups and organizations. We set up a Community Action Plan Committee (CAP-C), most of whose members are community leaders to decide on the selection process and make recommendations to ActionDignity.
A number of Community Action Plans have been identified in this round. ActionDignity will soon be contacting the groups and organizations that have been approved.
