ActionDignity named one of recipents of Minnesota Wild defencemen’s, Matt Dumba, campaign
On Sunday, Minnesota Wild defenceman, Matt Dumba, raised his fist for the Canadian and American anthems before his team’s first game of the NHL’s restart against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place.
Dumba’s action came a day after he made a moving speech stressing the need for social and racial justice and then kneeling for the American anthem, before Edmonton’s first game of the restart between the hometown Oilers and Chicago.
Fighting racial injustice, on and off the ice, has always been a cause that the Canadian born hockey player has actively defended against, he is a founding member of the Hockey Diversity Alliance.
Now, Dumba and his brother Kyle, have started a campaign to help rebuild Minnesota and supporting individuals who have faced Injustice, by choosing ActionDignity (in Canada) and Lake Street Council (in the US) as the two non-profits this campaign will be donating to. He will match donations up to $100,000.
Thank you to Matt and Kyle Dumba for their work in fighting systemic racism. We are honoured to be chosen as one of the recipients of this campaign. Together we can make change happen! For more information visit: https://rebuildminnesota.com
