ActionDignity Hosts Black History Month Lunch & Learn: Honoring Black Legacy and Leadership

In celebration of Black History Month, ActionDignity recently hosted a Lunch and Learn session for all staff, focusing on Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations.

We were honored to welcome Dee Adekugbe, Executive Director of Ruth’s House Society—the first domestic violence emergency shelter dedicated to people of the African Diaspora. Dee shared invaluable insights on the history, resilience, and contributions of Black communities, providing an enriching and thought-provoking discussion for all attendees.

The session also highlighted key ways to empower future generations, including:
🔹 Education & Mentorship – Investing in learning opportunities and guidance for youth
🔹 Community Engagement & Empowerment – Strengthening connections and support networks
🔹 Representation & Advocacy – Ensuring diverse voices are heard and valued
🔹 Heritage Preservation & Education – Honoring and passing down cultural history

At ActionDignity, we remain committed to learning, celebrating, and taking meaningful action to build a more inclusive and equitable future.

Let’s continue the conversation and create lasting change!
