The Youth Justice & Systems Transformation (Y-Justice) Initiative empowers racialized youth (15-26 years old) to raise awareness and exercise their rights, advocate for themselves and influence policy changes, fostering an inclusive and equitable community. The Community Connector will engage youth in and out of school to raise awareness of their legal rights, support ethnocultural communities with literacy and legal information, and develop community-led actions and conduct advocacy work.

The Bridging Legal Gaps Through a Community Led Approach Initiative is designed to bridge the gaps in accessing and understanding legal information for newcomers, refugees, and other racialized populations. The Community Connector will engage and support community-led actions and advocacy work. They will play a vital role in knowledge dissemination, sharing and accessing resources for temporary foreign workers, newcomers and immigrants and other racialized communities and groups who face challenges in understanding and in accessing legal information due to language or cultural barriers.

The Bridging Legal Gaps Through a Community-Led Approach Initiative is designed to bridge the gaps in accessing and understanding legal information for newcomers, refugees, and other racialized populations. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in driving the success of ActionDignity’s efforts to support ethnocultural communities in addressing legal challenges. This position involves engaging with ethnocultural community organizations through the Ethnocultural Community Caucus, facilitating Community Conversation Circles (CCCs), and building capacity among Justice Navigators.

We are looking for a Youth Community Connector who is deeply engaged in their communities to build connections and relationships, host safe conversations about lived experiences, ensure initiatives are culturally appropriate, bridge community members with decision makers or service providers, and support communities as they mobilize on issues important to them.
