Gender Equity

Working with communities to build safer families and fairer systems for all genders

The Gender Equity program helps change the conditions that allow gender inequity and family violence to persist. We look at how social, economic, and cultural systems affect families and work with communities to shift them.

We support grassroots groups leading their own projects and host conversations where people can speak openly about safety, relationships, and power. We train women and men as advocates, partner with service providers and employers to improve access to safe, fair work, and equip peers to respond when inequity or violence shows up.

Together with ethnocultural and racialized communities and mainstream partners, we address barriers in policy, workplaces, and community settings to create lasting equity for all genders.

Dashmesh cultrual centre’ proposed Women’s transitional housing project is designed to provide them the comforts of home and allow them to access to resources to help them have successful and safe futures for themselves and their children.

Women in Need Society (WINS) helps women and their families thrive by providing access to basic needs, emotional support, and employment training through our Community Support programs and services.
