Strengthening Community Leadership Through COACH Training

On August 29, 2026, ActionDignity hosted a full-day COACH Training for community organizations.

The training provided participants with practical knowledge, tools, and strategies to strengthen community leadership and organizational development. Topics included empowerment and leadership, personal leadership journeys, leadership “Ways of Being” and accountability, systems thinking and systems change, policy advocacy, organizational sustainability, vision development, decision-making, conflict management, communication, reflection, and evaluation.

Participants also explored several practical planning and decision-making tools, including Problem and Solution Trees, Six Thinking Hats, and the RAPID decision-making framework. Discussions about conflict of interest, communication channels, and organizational accountability supported participants in considering how their organizations can make transparent, inclusive, and effective decisions.

Through interactive exercises, group discussions, peer learning, and the sharing of personal leadership journeys, participants reflected on their experiences and identified approaches to strengthen their organizations, advance advocacy priorities, and contribute to sustainable community development.

The training created a valuable space for community organizations to connect, exchange knowledge, and learn from one another. By strengthening relationships and building shared capacity, participants are better positioned to lead meaningful, sustainable, and community-driven change.

COACH Training is a mandatory component of ActionDignity’s Community Action Plan process, helping participating organizations develop the leadership, planning, and organizational capacity needed to effectively respond to the priorities and aspirations of their communities.
