ActionDignity attended the 6th Metropolis Identities Summit from November 1 to 3. Our Executive Director, Francis Boakye, who also served as the co-chair of the conference, led discussions on vital topics related to immigration, settlement, and integration in diverse communities.
The conference served as a gathering of leaders, experts, and advocates from various fields to engage in essential conversations about the challenges and opportunities in multicultural societies.
ActionDignity shared its valuable project findings and insights on “Race-Sensitive and Racial Trauma-Informed Mental Health Care”, emphasizing the need to tailor mental health care to be sensitive to race and informed about racial trauma. This approach addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals from racialized communities.
In addition to the discussions on mental health care, ActionDignity highlighted the crucial role of “Community Connectors” in driving positive changes within diverse communities. These community connectors act as bridges, facilitating engagement and collaboration among different groups. ActionDignity’s insights in this area shed light on effective strategies to foster inclusivity and strengthen community bonds.
ActionDignity also presented its practices in combating racism and promoting equity. Our efforts in implementing anti-racism practices among racialized groups were a significant part of the conference’s discussions. By sharing our experiences and strategies in this area, ActionDignity contributed to the ongoing fight against systemic discrimination and injustice.
ActionDignity and our partners’ contributions to the conference underscored our commitment to building a more inclusive and just society, making a significant impact on the ongoing efforts to tackle issues related to immigration, settlement, and integration in today’s diverse world.
