As part of Black History Month’s celebration RYP Ambassadors have launched the RYP Youth Summit A summit led by black youth being held to share their experiences with their peers. Through sharing their narratives attendees will gain an accurate understanding of what it is like to be a black girl or boy.nnThe “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” session seeks to break the cycle of negative stereotypes surrounding young black males and promote positive representation. Another “You Grow Girl” session will focus on breaking away from stereotypes and defining black identity on one’s own terms rather than through clothing choices music preferences or cultural knowledge.
