DESCRIPTION:🎉 Another amazing youth-led initiative from our BLACK Youth Project!\nn \nJoin us for the Barbering &amp Hair Care Workshop + BBQ 🍔✂️\nn \n\nn \n📅 Date: June 7 2025\nn \n🕛 Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM\nn \n📍 Location: Forest Lawn Community Association\nn \n4020 26 Ave SE Calgary\nn \n\nn \nThis event was born out of the Community Initiative Pitch at our BLACK Youth Excellence event in April. 🙌 It goes beyond grooming. It’s about building confidence inspiring new skills and connecting youth to their roots through the cultural legacy of African hair traditions. In many African cultures hair is a powerful symbol—each braid twist and adornment tells a story of identity belonging and resilience.\nn \n\nn \nBig shout-out to Tiruk Tut for bringing this idea to life in support of South Sudanese and other Black youth. What started as a pitch is now a full community connection and learning opportunity—and we couldn’t be more proud. 💪\nn
