Workers’ Rights
Supporting racialized workers to know their rights, speak up safely, and push for fair treatment
Racialized workers keep Calgary running. But too often, they face unsafe conditions, unfair practices, or workplaces that don’t respect their rights.
Many workers see the disparities. Yet fear of losing their job, language barriers, and limited resources make it difficult to speak up, so the cycle of inequity continues.
That’s where the Workers’ Rights program steps in. We provide information on labour laws and employment standards. We bring workers together to share experiences and build support networks. And we connect communities with policy and decision-makers, so workers’ voices shape the policies and practices that impact them.
This program is for racialized and newcomer workers who want safer, fairer workplaces. It’s also for community allies committed to making dignity at work the standard, not the exception.
