ActionDignity Hosted Mental Health Systems Change Knowledge Mobilization Event

On September 18th, ActionDignity hosted an inspiring Mental Health Systems Change Knowledge Mobilization event, bringing together community members, partners, and stakeholders for an insightful discussion on mental health challenges in racialized communities. The event highlighted the importance of a systems approach in addressing mental health inequity and showcased how partnerships between racialized community organizations, service providers, and institutions are helping drive meaningful systems change through ActionDignity’s Community Innovation and Innovation Rider projects.

A special thank you to our esteemed panelists—Jamilah Edwards from Lionheart Foundation, Roberta Corea from Recovery Alberta, Lei Ma from ECSSEN Career School, and Vandana Sharma from Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA)—who led an engaging roundtable discussion on the gaps in mental health support systems for racialized communities and explored strategies to ensure more equitable access to resources.

The evening featured a variety of dynamic activities, including a youth role-playing exercise, a video presentation showcasing the impactful work of ethnocultural communities, a stakeholder discussion, and a keynote presentation on ActionDignity’s work in driving mental health systems change. The event wrapped up with a lively Q&A session, providing participants the opportunity to further engage with the topics and ideas presented.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended and contributed to this important conversation. Together, we are continuing the crucial work of advancing mental health equity in our communities.
