ActionDignity and The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) Collaborate to Empower Community Leaders through Mental Health Natural Support Training
ActionDignity, in collaboration with The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) completed its “Train the Trainer” certificate course on Mental Health Natural Support in November. This transformative initiative is part of a joint project between ActionDignity and TIES aimed at empowering community leaders to effectively respond to mental health disclosures within racialized communities.
The partnership between ActionDignity and TIES has led to the development of the Mental Health Natural Support Training Course, a groundbreaking program designed to equip community leaders with the necessary resources, languages, and skills to address mental health issues within their communities. This initiative is a significant step towards fostering mental health awareness and support among diverse populations. By adopting a “Train the Trainer” model, the program ensures a sustainable impact by enabling community leaders to pass on their knowledge and skills to a broader audience.
The free certificate course, conducted by ActionDignity, brought together a diverse group of community leaders eager to enhance their understanding of mental health and improve their ability to support those in need. The training covered a range of topics, including fundamental knowledge of mental health, practical strategies for responding to mental health disclosures and accessible resources.
ActionDignity remains committed to promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive environment within racialized communities. The success of this inaugural training session marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
