National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Statement

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, celebrated on September 30th, honours residential school Survivors, the precious children who did not get to return home to their families, friends, and communities. This Day serves as an important reminder to our society of our collective responsibilities and actions in ensuring that our current and future behaviours and practices truly reflect our solemn commitment to justice, fairness, and equity. It is a reminder to all of us of our solemn duty to make “The Day” an everyday commitment to telling the truth by demonstrating reconciliatory practices including recognizing the trauma experienced by our Indigenous Colleagues and the willingness to deploy our human capacities to make transformative changes in our society.

ActionDignity honours this Day with all our Indigenous communities, friends, families, and colleagues and all of us, with a renewed determination to continue to work for a stronger, just and fair society.
