Cultural Gathering Celebrates Heritage, Stories, and Community Voices

On February 26, ActionDignity hosted a vibrant Cultural Gathering that brought together community members to celebrate culture, connection, and shared experiences. The evening was a powerful reminder of the richness and diversity that strengthen our society.

Community members proudly showcased their cultural heritage, creating a welcoming space filled with music, conversation, and reflection. We were honoured to hear heartfelt stories from immigrants and community organizations about their newcomer journeys — stories marked by struggle, resilience, courage, and hope.

The event was further energized by inspiring cultural performances from Centro Latino and Calgary Eritrean Keskese Milash Community Association, who brought the audience together through music and dance.

A key highlight of the evening was the official launch of the Brokers Bridge Builder Project Baseline Survey. This initiative invites immigrants to share their experiences, insights, and barriers in accessing settlement services. The survey findings will help inform more equitable, responsive, and community-driven supports. Please contact Majo Garcia at info@actiondignity.org if you are interested in the survey.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to such a meaningful evening. Together, we continue building bridges across communities.
